"Warzone" Motion Capture

Breakdown

This nearly minute-long project involved managing a motion capture session as a director with two actors and a real-world prop (nerf gun). Markers were placed on both actors' suits and the nerf gun. The performance was captured in Vicon Shogun Live and the motion capture data was then cleaned up in Vicon Shogun Post. From there, the data was transferred onto existing rigged/skinned characters in MotionBuilder where the animation was further tweaked. The character models used in this animation (Swat and Malcolm) are courtesy of Mixamo. The lighting and camera work was done in Maya (rendered with Arnold). Laser gun effects were added in After Effects and compositing was done in Nuke. The final footage was exported with Premiere Pro. (Performance by Louis Bosch and Katlyn Jansen)
